Of course, I, too, know all about them-and their business-and their romances-and their troubles. You see, we all live in the same, small town, nestled in the western foothills of North Carolina, and most of us have lived here all of our lives. There are 389 pairs of eyes in our little town, so nothing goes unnoticed. My name is Mavis Thorgood. I am married to Fred, who is the senior reporter for the Daily Spectator, a local newspaper in our community. So naturally, both Fred and I are snoops. Fred keeps busy with the official reporting of the happenings in Yancey County, while I keep busy keeping up with the gossip. I have five very close friends who are more like sisters than friends, really. I see them nearly every day down at the Sip & Knit Yarn Shop on Main Street. We usually have tea together, share a bit of chatter, and work on our knitting projects. Its harmless fun most of the time. Somehow, though, we recently found ourselves tangled up in a mystery that rocked our little town to the very core. So brew yourself a cup of tea, put up your feet, and join me, as I share the story of our little town and the wacky world of Sip & Knit Ladies!
